Practice 1 are seeking  a Salaried/ long term locum GP to join our current team of 2 GP partners, 3 salaried GP, 4 practice nurses, 2 HCAs, one pharmacist and a very motivated reception and admin team.  

The successful candidate would need to be flexible, reliable, punctual and trustworthy. Our current list size is 9000 patients, and we only have one dedicated location (no branch surgeries), which is situated in a newly built health park on the outskirts of Merthyr Tydfil town centre.

The location is within close proximity to both Cardiff and Swansea and has a large car parking area available.

We have added services available withing the practice e.g. physiotherapy, common ailments service, General Practice Support Officer, minor op and baby clinic along with an extensive list of enhanced services.

Salary to be discussed depending on experience.

Sessions: 6 sessions per week. (Monday , Tuesday and Wednesday )

We offer 6 weeks annual leave per year and study leave dependent on the role.

We are a training practice for GP registrars, medical students, nursing students and can accommodate work experience when required.

This is an immediate start position.

The role

We’re looking for a compassionate, team-minded Salaried GP for 4 sessions per week. Session days are flexible. You’ll join an established multidisciplinary team and contribute to high-quality, patient-centred care.

A rare and exciting opportunity has become available at Llandaff North Medical Centre, for a 3 day (5 session) GP partner to join our practice, due to the relocation abroad of the current post-holder.  

Dr Maizey and Dr Angilley are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated experienced GP to join their well-organised, friendly training practice, committed to the provision of high-quality health care to the locality, alongside the continued development of the practice team. Hard work is inevitable in primary care but maintenance of a healthy work-life balance is very important to us and team-work is key. The practice prides itself on the provision of high quality GP training and both current partners are experienced trainers. The successful candidate can expect to join an active, efficient and forward-thinking partnership fostering an equitable and supportive environment to enable the provision of high quality patient care to suit the needs of the locality.

The practice area is part of the Cardiff West Cluster and primarily serves the community in Llandaff North, Gabalfa and Whitchurch, with some wider patients in the Fairwater, Danescourt and Llandaff area, providing a varied, rewarding and interesting patient caseload.

Grange Medical Practice is a busy, inner-city Practice in the south of Cardiff, serving a diverse population of 11,500 patients. We are an 8-partner training practice with an experienced nursing team comprising of 3 nurses and 2 HCAs. We operate from a large modern practice, with excellent facilities/treatment rooms etc, including free on-site parking.

Job responsibilities (May vary depending on qualifications)

  • Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by the clinical team.

  • Cytology

  • Wound care / ulcer care/Doppler

  • Removal of Sutures

  • New Patient Medicals/Urinalysis

  • Travel Clinic Immunisations/Advice

  • ECGs

  • Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry

  • Venepuncture

  • Administer B12, Prostap etc.

  • Support of clinicians with minor surgery, coil fittings etc.

  • Hypertension Management

  • Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations/Annual Flu campaign.

HEIW CTMUHB GPN Foundation Programme

Are you a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse with an interest in joining Primary Care as a General Practice Nurse with no previous experience or are you a newly qualified Practice Nurse?

Treharris Primary Care Centre/Oaklands Surgery (Valleys Medical Group) are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our patient focused and innovative Practice.  The Practice is based in Treharris and a branch surgery in Bedlinog.

The practice consists of over 9018 patients with a supportive clinical team of 6 GP Partners and 1 Clinical Pharmacist (Partner), 2 Salaried GPs, 1 Advanced Paramedic Practitioner, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 Health Care Assistant, 2 Phlebotomists.  We also have a very motivated and supportive Administration Team.

The Practice is an active participant in training programmes for a wide range of clinical staff, we support Medical Students, Post Graduate Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Trainees as well as Paramedics to achieve their Independent Prescribing.

The Practice has been approved by ‘HEIW CMTUHB GPN Foundation Programme’.  The Programme is aimed at registered nurses considering a career within general practice or who has recently qualified as a GP Nurse.  No previous primary care nursing experience is required. The successful applicant will be enrolled onto the 9-month training scheme.  The GPN Foundation Programme provides an opportunity for registered nurses to gain the skills required for employment within a GP Practice for a period of 9 months.  The Nurse will be supported to learn and develop the skills necessary for a career in General Practice.  The Post is funded by CTMUHB, HEIW and the General Practice providing the placement.  This post is a fixed term for 9 months due to the programme duration but with the negotiation of a permanent position in the practice.  The GPN Programme is aimed at registered nurses considering a career within General Practice.  No primary care nursing experience is required.  Newly qualified nurses or nurses wishing to transition into General Practice are welcome to apply.     The programme aims to take the successful applicant from a GPN Trainee level with no previous experience in General Practice, to a competent GPN by giving them the opportunity to experience and deliver General Practice Nursing Care, whilst experiencing the patient journey in and across different areas of community care and understanding how these interlink.  By the end of the programme, the successful applicant will be able to practice as a GPN confidently and competently and provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care to the practice population, focusing on the delivery of evidence-based practice for patients presenting with long term conditions and acute problems. 

Experience

A Registered Nurse with up-to-date NMC Registration and no previous experience in General Practice or newly registered Nurse.

Contract Type

  • 9 months (Fixed term for 9 months due to the duration of programme with negotiation of a permanent position

Treharris Primary Care Centre/Oaklands Surgery (Valleys Medical Group) are currently looking to recruit a part-time receptionist to work 16 hours per week.

This is an exciting and challenging role in a busy environment with 9036 patients across both sites.  This is an opportunity to develop and build a career in Primary Care.

You will be part of a friendly, growing team of receptionists, Doctors, Nurses and Administration staff.

Duties will include meeting and greeting patients, booking appointments, taking telephone calls and signposting patients to name a few of the tasks.

You should be capable, enthusiastic with proven accurate and efficient keyboard skills.  Meticulous attention to detail is an essential part of the role.  Prioritising a busy workload, being a good team player and having the ability to undertake a wide range of duties are some of the qualities required.

Full training and support will be provided with a structured induction period to ensure a full understanding of our computer system and internal working processes.

This is a permanent contract subject to a successful probation period.  Working hours will be discussed at interview.
